Logangate Timber Homes was founded in the 1950s with a dream to provide affordable luxury homes to our clients. While our beginnings are humble, we have grown over time to become the top-ranking luxury home builders in the southeast! Today, we are headquartered in Asheville, North Carolina with our prefab cabin kits built all over the country.

Because of our unique hybrid post and beam designs, we can ship our modern prefab cabin kits anywhere! At Logangate, we have shipped our prefab cabin kits across the continental United States such as west to Lake Tahoe in California, east to the Carolina Coast, north to the Boyne Mountains in Michigan, and south to the Gasparilla Island in Florida.

How Shipping Modern Prefab Cabin Kits Works

Many new clients are skeptical that we can fill their prefab cabin kit needs from our headquarters in Asheville North Carolina. Our prefab cabin kits are built in a secure and climate-controlled manufacturing facility. This building practice allows for precision-built walls, windows, and other pieces off-site. The parts of the client’s modern prefab cabin kit are then shipped with minimal exposure to any extreme elements.

Smarter Shipping Makes for Smarter Homes

Our prefab cabin kits come with walls that are typically only 4 feet wide.  We do this for structural reasons because that creates a double stud situation every 4 feet. That point load is where our Douglas Fir timber comes down, hence Post & Beam. The 4 feet widths also make it convenient to ship the walls and unload them.  Our roof panels are also panelized and precut. The roof panels are also 4 feet wide by either 8 feet, 9 feet, or sometimes even 10 feet. Our 4 by 8 roof panel only weighs approximately 75 pounds, which contributes to the overall ease of unloading and installation. The timbers are all precut and sanded as well as the 2 by 6 Douglas Fir Tongue and Groove. This material is typically put into lumber bunks and shipped via a flatbed truck. The bottom line is that this type of prefab cabin kit allows us to ship your home package directly from our manufacturing facility to the client’s job site.

Where We Come From Makes A Difference

As our home base is in Asheville, North Carolina, we must mention that we share the same city with the largest private home in the country, finished in 1985, the Biltmore. This inspirational landmark embodies our goal of creating a luxury timber frame home in a beautiful mountainous region.

Regions such as the Blue Ridge Mountains are home to many of our modern prefab cabin kits. The area spans Northern Georgia and South Carolina, Western North Carolina, Eastern Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. Another area where our homes can be found is near Pisgah National Forest which spans over 500,000 acres. The original 86,000 acres were part of the Vanderbilt estate and donated in 1914. Asheville area boasts over 200 waterfalls and countless hikes. Just to the north of Asheville is Mount Mitchell, the tallest mountain east of the Rockies at 6,684 ft. elevation.

In the North Georgia mountains lies our homes near the Chattahoochee National Forest. Beautiful homesites can be found all around this great national treasure. Towns like Ellijay, Talking Rock, Jasper, Big Canoe, Cleveland, Helen, and Hiawassee are areas where our prefab cabin kits have been built in. Eastern Tennessee is another great landscape for our timber homes. The Great Smokey National Park is easily accessed from Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg. With over 11 million visitors to the Park each year, there must be a reason why everyone travels to this region. West Virginia’s Monongahela National Forest and Virginia’s George Washington and Jefferson National forest are both huge attractions for these states.  West Virginia towns White Sulfur Springs, Snowshoe, Elkins, and Davis all attract visitors and residents with a variety of outdoor activities.  Roanoke, Charlottesville, Massanutten, Woodstock, and Front Royal are Virginia towns that also support this lifestyle.

Taking inspiration from landmark homes like the Biltmore and being appreciative of the forested mountains, we wanted to deliver a timber home that is as regal as the Biltmore but blends a perfect fit nestled in the mountains and amongst the trees; as such, we began building modern prefab cabin kits and focused on creating prefab cabin kits that are affordable and stylish for the everyday American family.

Whether you are building in the Appalachian mountain range or anywhere else in the Country,  Logangate Timber Homes can deliver luxury prefab cabin kits anywhere inside of the continental US.
