Asheville is an eclectic, progressive community in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Asheville’s strengths lie in the livability categories like health care, education, outdoor recreation, arts and music. Find your perfect lot to take in the views and enjoy all that the area has to offer.
Bryson City, Cherokee, Sylva:
Surrounded by the Nantahala National Forest and the Great Smokey National Forest are these 3 popular cities. Outdoor living is supreme in this region. Whitewater rafting down the Nantahala river is fun for all ages and all levels. Climb Clingmans Dome at sunset or boat on Fontana Lake, your options are endless.
Maggie Valley and Waynesville:
These cities have easy access to Nantahala National Forest and Great Smoky National Forest and are only 30 minutes west of Asheville. The perfect area for those who want both outdoor living and close proximity to big city dining and healthcare.
Cashiers and Lake Toxaway:
Close to the Georgia border, this area is a favorite for Atlanta residents to escape the heat and head to the mountains. Gorges State Park is for sure a highlight with 150ft tall Rainbow Falls. Boating on Lake Toxaway as well as numerous golf courses are all big draws as well.
Population of only 1700, so you know you will have your space in this region. Beautiful mountain views and very close to Mount Mitchell, the highest mountain east of the Rockies at 6,684 ft. elevation.
Boone and Blowing Rock:
Boone, home of Appalachian State University, is a college town. Downtown has numerous top-notch restaurants and breweries. Outside of town is new commercial stores that provides you with all the convenience. Blowing Rock is a small quaint town with numerous restaurants. Easy access to the Blue Ridge Parkway and to Grandfather Mountain.
